Sunrise Circle Jacket

I first saw the Sunrise Circle Jacket in the Spring, 2006 issue of Interweave Knits.  I fell in love with the design and decided to make one for my "at the time" college bound daughter.

The model in the magazine was knit using Karabella Soft Tweed.  I chose a Laines Du Nord 100% wool yarn and knit it on a needle smaller than the yarn recommended.  The winters can be brutal in Boone.

This was my first attempt at knitting a sweater and I loved the way this piece is constructed and how tailored the finished product is.  The pattern disappeared for a while, but is now a $6.00 download at:  http://www.kategilbert.com/p_sunrisecircle.html

There are many beautiful yarns at the Studio available to knit this project from tweeds from Jo Sharp, Berroco and more.  I have a client knitting this jacket using a yarn that contains cotton and linen.  It is beautiful and has three seasons wearability.
